Oak Hills Information
Oak Hills is considered to be an upper class neighborhood that is well respected and well known in the San Antonio area. Oak Hills is home to a variety of things such as churches, shopping centers, and most importantly the Oak Hills Country Club. Oak Hills has always been known as a high society part of San Antonio and throughout the years it has really worked hard to secure that idea; this is precisely why many of the current residents moved to Oak Hills as well.
Obviously being that Oak Hills is a relatively exclusive and expensive neighborhood it should not be surprising to find that it is much more wide open than most neighborhoods in the San Antonio area. Oak Hills sits deep in what used to be a rich oak forest and there are still thick patches of trees and shrubbery that show the tradition and history of what used to be located in the area. Oak Hills is a very spread out community as well which means there is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy any number of sports or outdoor activities. Fortunately Oak Hills has a world class country club that gives residents access to golfing, tennis, pools, and other important and popular activities; this makes the Oak Hills neighborhood quite popular with many people. Oak Hills is also located just far enough outside of the city to not have to deal with much of the traffic and congestion that you would find downtown San Antonio. At the same time it is entirely possible to commute to nearly any part of San Antonio without having to drive more than 20 or 25 minutes which makes the Oak Hills neighborhood quite convenient for many people.
Overall Oak Hills is a unique and interesting neighborhood that has quite a bit to offer compared to most neighborhoods in San Antonio. If you are looking for a neighborhood with plenty of outdoor space, plenty of large homes, and lots of shopping and dining nearby then Oak Hills is the place for you. Unfortunately due to the upper class ideals held by the Oak Hills neighborhood it is quite a bit more expensive than most others in the area so that is something that most people have to really consider before moving into the area.
