Burleson Information
Burleson has had more than a few brushes with fame. Legendary Wild West outlaw, Sam Bass, robbed trains just outside Burleson. Robert Anderson, a member of Eisenhower's staff, was born in Burleson. And more recently, American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson was born in Burleson. Clarkson has gone on to sell more than 10 million records as a pop superstar.
The city of Burleson is growing rapidly. In 2000 the population was just north of 20,000, and in 2011 the population is more than 35,000. This has made Burleson an attractive city for businesses seeking a growing market. The city recognizes the benefit of new business in the area and offers different types of incentive packages for prospective businesses. And, it's close to Joshua, Cleburne, and Crowley - not to mention that Fort Worth, with all the big city amenities, is just north of town.
Burleson is a city with a strong community that takes its residents' needs to heart in many ways. The city was recently named as one of the "100 Best Communities for Young People". Students are served admirably by the Burleson ISD and Joshua ISD. The neighborhoods are safe as the crime rate is much lower than the US average. The city also hosts free concerts during the summer. And housing is affordable - the majority of Burleson apartments fall in the $600-900 range.
Burleson has many activities to keep its residents active and healthy. The highlight is the 10,000 square foot Burleson Recreation Center, complete with pools, workout area, and a track. For older residents the Senior Activity Center was recently renovated to ensure it could hold great programs for senior citizens. There is also Hidden Creek Golf Course, sure to be fun for pros and amateurs alike.
