South Congress Information
The SoCo neighborhood of Austin Texas is considered a creative and hip new revolution neighborhood that has recently undergone a nearly complete revitalization. SoCo stands for South Congress and just a few years ago the entire neighborhood was very run down and in serious need of help and revitalization. Fortunately that is exactly what has happened thanks to funding and support from various community revival projects. SoCo really has become a center of hip culture and other similar cultures and as such thousands of people have been drawn to the area.
Regardless of what part of Austin you would like to live close to SoCo is a great place to live; there is plenty of dining and entertainment attractions within a very short distance and thanks to the location SoCo is close to everything in Austin. No matter where you plan to work downtown it will only be a short drive or walk to get to work each day. SoCo is incredibly popular with younger families and other young people but the area caters very well to nearly any age or demographic so nearly everyone can find something they like in the area. Throughout SoCo there are dozens of well known and well respected restaurants and attractions that people often visit the area just to see. Because of this SoCo has thrived quite well ever since the complete revitalization. Without the extra funding used to revitalize the neighborhood the SoCo neighborhood would likely still be very rundown and in need of repair; fortunately it has completely been changed.
Overall SoCo is simply a unique and well respected neighborhood in downtown Austin. SoCo has become a true center of culture in Austin thanks to the revitalization of the city and as more people begin to move to the area it is becoming more and more popular. Visiting SoCo is definitely recommended if you are considering moving to any part of Austin and fortunately there are generally plenty of housing options available in the area. SoCo offers a unique blend of history, location, and popularity that few other locations can match so it is definitely worth taking a look at for your next home. You might find that SoCo simply has everything you could possibly need all while being quite close to all of downtown Austin. Be a part of the revitalization of a history downtown neighborhood by moving to the newly renovated SoCo neighborhood.
