Bear Creek Pioneer's Park and George Bush Park/Eldridge is a great place to hike and bike and is only a short drive away.
There are several bus stops on Long Point Road that are serviced by buses that travel to and from downtown Houston. The area is easy to get around by bike and even includes some bike lanes on some streets. It takes about a half hour to get to downtown Houston by car and less than 50 minutes to get there by bus. Biking to the downtown area is possible and takes less than an hour.
